1 & 2. Belvoir St Theare 3. Kake udon 4. Brown sugar mochi
Kicked off the holidays yesterday with a trip to the city! Our grade went to see As You Like It, and from the looks of the audience we were venturing into old people's territory... but hey, the play was amazing, and it was such a nice day as well! Thank you Nicholas for organising the whole thing, even though he probably doesn't read my blog... All in all, a good way to almost end the year :)
Nothing like some shiny new buys to cheer you/me up! This just goes to show how much I haven't been inclined to do anything recently... except shop. I've actually been eyeing the jewellery holder on UO since forever, and now I'm happy to say it's sitting pretty on my desk! It even came with a ton of bubble paper, to my delight... I kind of get the feeling I should fill the thing up more because I don't have enough earrings, but oh well. I have a license to mope around now that school assessments are finished for the year, so bye for now!
What I wore to shop, eat pide and drink peach bubble tea. Sadly, that was time potentially well spent on study, but hey! I got a new wallet and blowtorch so I can make creme brulee. Basically, I can't wait until I finish assessments, so bye until then!
Just some food from Max Brenner I never got around to posting. I really eat too much sugar for my own good... but anyway, I'd never eaten there and the white chocolate chai made it so sweet :0 But it was good! I pretty much have a giant list of places I have to try, so I can't wait til the holidays to go on food adventures. Don't laugh by the way, I'm just obsessed with eating :b Hope everyone's having a nice day!
Try as I might, I can never seem to get good photos of stars. Or the sky in general. I guess living where it's impossible to stargaze is something I'll have to deal with, but wouldn't it be nice to go somewhere to do just that! You know, just as long as said place is not some Alpine mountaintop, then I'd be keen...
Anyway, the best way to describe where I've been lately is... in limbo. Knowing it's almost my last year of school makes me pretty distressed, and confused about what I want to do once I leave forever. It also doesn't help that I'm not particularly good at anything, or anything worth doing anyway. But that's for me to ponder over. Good night readers, and thank you for sticking around for so long!
Just some things that I bought recently! The photo album was much needed after I left my Japan photos to collect dust, so I was quite happy when kikki.K actually had it in stock :) So apart from shopping, here's what I've been up to:
Going to school
Dying from early starts and late finishes
Having my first driving lesson (three months after getting my license...)
Cursing Sydney's bipolar weather
... and that's about it. Sadly, school doesn't lend many opportunities to go out and take photos, but at least summer's coming up soon? Yay for longer days and no more stockings! And nay, for uncomfortable heat and sun rays! Really, long ago I realised I can't win against the weather so there's no point trying. Have a good weekend or what's left of it, everyone!
Just some photos from an outing with my jap class buddies! Never mind the fact it was three weeks ago, but I guess things are better left late than never, right? Sadly the barbecues weren't working when we went, but our group ordered so much that we probably would've exploded if we had the option... It was also my first time trying kimchi, and I'm basically a wimp concerning food that's even remotely hot or spicy. This is coming from a girl who's meant to have grown up on Lao-Thai food too, how sad... HAHA.
Of course, someone had to bring a calculator and that made me laugh for some weird reason... Anyway, I hope everyone's having a better weekend than me! I have a ton of homework to catch up on now that I have school again, so over and out.
Am I alone when I say that I can't wait for this year to end? To be honest, 2011's been horrid in more ways than one, and I need a fresh start already. Anyway, yesterday Frankie's 2012 diary came in the mail thanks to the Nation State, so that doesn't exactly help my cause... I'm dying to use it already! For those that are looking, you can order the diary here. (By the way, the weird origami Santa isn't included...)
In other news, did I mention that my family got new birds? Well, being an idiot my sister let our old one fly away. I think my parents were more sad about it than any of my siblings... Anyway, they're lovebirds and we don't know their genders, hence they are currently nameless. I don't think they particularly like us yet, so do any bird experts have tips for playing with them or something? This is why I'll never have a pet of my own accord...
Really, I only had to watch this movie's trailer to know that I'd fall in love with it... the story's just so bittersweet, and pretty much every frame is a work of art. I was actually getting emotional by the end of it, but the only thing that really makes me cry is 1 Litre of Tears. EVERY TIME.
Anyway, I finished my exams this week so year 11's finally done and dusted! While I have freedom I plan on lots of sleeping, eating, and shopping for stationery in the hope that it'll motivate me to study. That may sound like an excuse, but from experience, you can never have too much stationery... *cue evil laugh* Enjoy your holidays, everyone!
Sometimes, my logic kills me... Right now my brain's saying, 'I have exams in two days, I should blog to remove my means of procrastination!' I guess that would be effective if I didn't manage to find distractions in everything... and if I'd actually done some work already. Meep.
Moving on, I got my film back this week! I'm pretty happy considering I've never used my Spotmatic before, but I still need a lot more practice. Case in point, I kinda blurred Anna in one of the photos... Also, I have a feeling that developing will hurt my hip pocket, so we'll see about that. That's it for now, so good luck fellow year 11s in your yearlies, and I'll be back in two weeks time!
1. New earrings 2. 35mm handbook 3. German pancake
Ah, the things you find when you least expect it... Basically I got the book and earrings from Country Fair for 45c all up, so yay! I'm pretty sure they're unused, but I'm paranoid so I bought sterilising spray anyway. Also, I tried making German pancakes this morning. My life is exciting. I think I'll stick to normal pikelets from now on, but the recipe's here if anyone wants to try. Now you're all going to compare my ugly pancakes with Smitten Kitchen's perfect ones, so maybe I shouldn't have done that... Well, hope everyone has a fun weekend! Especially year 11 who should be slogging it out for yearlies right now. Including me. Goodbye until then :)
So, nothing much to say except that I still think my stomach will explode any second... but thank you to Mitchell and Nicholas for the party yesterday, and happy birthday!! It's been awhile since I've ventured outside to socialise, which I know is very sad... but I guess I should make the most of it. Year 12 starts soon, but I'd rather cross that bridge when I reach it. Until I update again, hope everyone's enjoying their weekend!
