Thrifted cardigan, Country Road tee, Miss Shop skirt, Novo sneakers, watch from mum

If I ever need an intervention in my life (possibly inspired by this classic scene from How I Met Your Mother), I'm pretty sure it'll be because I wear this skirt way too much. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for buying basics and cost-per-wear and all that jazz. However, sometimes it's so hard to stand in front of my wardrobe and feel inspired by the sea of neutrals staring back at me! I feel like I have a lot of shopping to do until I reach that coveted idea of the 'perfect' wardrobe, if that even exists.

Anyway, on to the rest of my outfit! There comes a time in one's life when you have to succumb and wear sneakers, and today was just one of those occasions. I never even knew that I had these babies until today, but the advantages of sharing a shoe size with your mum is that your collection effectively doubles. These took me from the State Library to the shops painlessly (a rare occurrence for me, sadly enough), so I'll probably be claiming them as my own for the time being!

In other news, I feel like I have to address the elephant in the room and explain why my blog has been so quiet lately. Like always, a pileup of uni work and lack of inspiration are basically the reasons why I've been MIA! I should probably get my organisational act together soon, but now I'm curious. If you're a blogger, what works for you? Does a posting calendar keep you in check, or do you just blog things whenever the mood strikes? Anyway, please let me know and I hope you're all having a great week so far!

  2. Once uni starts for me (one week) i'll probably stop posting as much, but i think that forcing myself to bring my camera more often would help me.

  8. I love this outfit! There's nothing wrong with wearing the same thing over and over, it's a good thing.

I only blog when I've got something to blog about and when I have the time to - real life has to come first!

  12. I love your outfit! I'm a big fan of scheduling posts, so if I have an afternoon free before a busy week I'll plan 3 or 4 posts in one sitting and then know I don't have to stress during the week. I know some might think this detracts from the 'authenticity' of posts but if I didn't do it I definitely wouldn't be able to post half as much as I do now.

  15. Oh this outfit is nice, I'm a sucker for sneakers like that. Especially on long uni days. Your hair looks lovely.

On the blogger thing, life comes first always. But I blog when I feel like it, especially if I've got pictures to share. Otherwise I feel like a stupid loser sharing uninteresting things I didn't see/experience whatever. So don't worry, you just got to find what works for you.

  20. I know how it is when you have a basic that you keep gravitating to, but I'm really loving that skirt and I can see why you wear it so much. It's simple and would go with just about anything!!

I completely understand how life gets crazy and inspirations are nowhere to be found... sometimes breaks are just necessary :)

    Hope you're enjoying your weekend!

  21. Love your outfit! I recently started using a blog post planner. I write my post/outfit ideas down, and they fill them in on a planner. For me it works. Maybe it works for you too. :)

  30. I definitely have things in my closet that I wear far too much, like these black pants I have on today. lol So I don't blame you for wearing this skirt a lot, it's cute!!

I just had a little bit of a break from blogging because things were crazy, but I think that time was needed. Because I had time to step away and just live. I think that helped me regain my focus, because I just had a burst of inspiration the past few days.
